The Michigan Department of Transportation has scheduled three public meetings on major projects slated for the southeastern Michigan area.
On Wednesday, MDOT will discuss proposed improvements to the M-59/Crooks Road interchange in Rochester Hills. MDOT is currently designing a new interchange, including a new, five-lane overpass.
Consideration is being given to building either a partial cloverleaf design that is similar to the existing interchange or to building two roundabouts on the Crooks Road Bridge.
The open style forum will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rochester Hills City Hall council chambers, 1000 Rochester Hills Drive.
Again on Wednesday, MDOT will host a public meeting regarding the construction this fall of a sound wall at the I-94/U.S. 24 (Telegraph) interchange. The wall is intended to reduce the level of traffic noise from the newly constructed Single Point Urban Interchange.
The meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Taylor City Hall council chambers, 23555 Goddard Road.
On July 30, MDOT will hold a public meeting regarding the reconstruction of M-39 (Southfield Freeway) in winter 2010.
The project will involve the reconstruction of nearly two miles of the Southfield between Porter Street, in Lincoln Park, and Pinecrest, in Allen Park.
The meeting will be held between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Allen Park City Hall council chambers, 16850 Southfield Road.
