At Moro’s Dining in Allen Park, the staff makes a ceremony not just of cherries jubilee, but also bananas foster and a concoction called Macedonian, a mix of peaches, pineapple, cherries and bananas, flamed and served over ice cream and cake. That certainly harkens back to a time when diners didn’t mind spending a leisurely two-and-a-half hours savoring a multi-course dinner, but according to Mark Luecke of Moro’s, who has probably prepared a thousand flaming desserts over the years, there are still plenty of people in our hurry-up world who end their meal by sharing one of the tableside treats.
