Royal Oak Shrine’s volleyball team is right where it wants to be at this time of the year, and that’s playing for the Catholic League championship.
The Knights qualified for the Catholic League C-D Division title game with a hard-fought, four-game semifinal victory over Bloomfield Hills Academy of the Sacred Heart Thursday afternoon at Allen Park Cabrini High School. The scores were 14-25, 25-18, 25-20, 26-24.
It marks Shrine’s 10th straight appearance in the league title game. The Knights have the opportunity to defend their crown when they take on Allen Park Cabrini in the Catholic League finals set for 5 p.m. Monday at Madonna University in Livonia.
