Downriver Communities Form Utility Authority

Twelve of 13 area communities are working to form a legally binding utility authority.

Their goal is to save money by managing the Downriver Wastewater Treatment System, which now is controlled by Wayne County.

Attorneys for the communities are drafting bylaws and the articles of incorporation, which will be presented to the municipalities by Tuesday.
