It was close throughout the day, but Northville prevailed in Saturday’s 11-team Livonia Franklin Invitational wrestling tournament over the host Patriots.

The Mustangs, getting four individual titles, edged Franklin for first place in the final point tally, 256-249.5. Allen Park was third with 203.

Northville was led by Upper Weights MVP Nick Mudar, who pinned Dearborn Edsel Ford’s Tim Bloom for the 171-pound crown in 1:57.

Allen Park’s 125-pounder James Cusin, who decisioned Lutheran Westland’s Laith Francis in the finals, 14-9, was named Lower Weghts MVP.
