Allen Park and Melvindale tied 37-37 with the deciding factor going to the third criteria, an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
The only penalty of the dual came in the 135-pound match, which Calib Riley won by major decision for the visiting Jaguars.
“It was called on a cross-face which the official said was harder than it had to be,” Melvindale Coach Ellis Slaughter said. “That wasn’t the reason we lost, we had a lot of chances to win the match.”
Allen Park also scored wins by Jake Polenciewicz (103), Trent Wolf (152), Anthony Long (160), Bobby Garza (171) and Mike Gaggin (189).
