Grosse Ile and Allen Park – powerhouses among local competitive cheerleading teams – won News-Herald Invitational championships, but this year they were joined by a local newcomer, Roosevelt, which claimed the Division 1 title at Grosse Ile Saturday. In Division 2, Allen Park would not be stopped as the Jags scored 754.7722 for the victory.
The Division 2 race quickly developed into a two-team race as Allen Park and Dearborn Divine Child raced to the front in the very first round.
The Jags beats the Falcons in all three rounds, but the scores were close on each occasion.
