MELVINDALE –– Two former assistant football coaches at Melvindale High School are threatening to file a lawsuit over ownership of property they claim belongs to them.
At Monday’s Melvindale-Northern Allen Park school board meeting, Dave Malecki and Paul Cochran requested that the district return four headsets they bought together and brought to the school to use while they were coaching. The coaches have since left Melvindale.
An invoice for the headsets lists four headsets bought by Cochran on Aug. 1, 2001, for $1,374 after shipping.
The board adopted a motion that Cochran can get the headphones if he pays back $1,860 the district paid to recondition them while they were being used at the school.
