The city of Allen Park has hired Ferndale-based S3 Entertainment Group to manage the film operations at the city-owned Allen Park Studio Center.
As part of the deal, S3 will bring six new businesses to the 800,000-square-foot campus in Allen Park said Mayor Gary Burtka.
He declined to name the firms, but said he was shown written commitments by the companies.
S3 will seek films, productions and other work for the Allen Park facilities.
“This is a Michigan-based company that has had a lot of film experience, such as working with ‘Gran Torino,’” he said. “This is a good fit for us and for the tenants that are there.”
Burtka said S3’s industry connections will be crucial to bringing films to the studios on the campus.
S3 managing partner Jeff Spilman confirmed the deal but declined to name the businesses to be moved to the site.
