District 14
(Ecorse, Lincoln Park, Melvindale, River Rouge and part of Allen Park)
This district features a well-stocked Democratic primary to succeed term-limited Rep. Ed Clemente. Paul Clemente, 47, of Lincoln Park, the incumbent’s cousin, appears to be cashing in on name recognition, but his training as a certified public accountant offers a skill that would be valuable in Lansing. Brittany Guerriero, of Allen Park, is a United Way development officer who is also well grounded in politics and policy. Frank Liberati, 46, of Allen Park is a bakery and deli owner who is on the school board and has served as its president since 2006. Frank Vaslo, 51, of Lincoln Park is also a small business owner and has been his city’s mayor for the last four years.
Among this talented crew, FRANK VASLO brings a record of knowing how to consolidate services and cooperate with neighboring communities. His experience would be a particular asset on an issue — consolidation and/or service sharing — that is essential for Michigan communities to survive in the years ahead.
