Allen Park Coach Lynn Ketlehut has reason to be excited this season, having graduated only one senior.
“Our goal is to be at the top by the league meet,” he said. “We expect to contend barring injuries. The kids have worked a lot of miles.”
The Jaguars have 16 runners led by three seniors in co-captains Mallory Nemeth, Michelle Samson and Abby Waynick.
Other key returners are juniors Kathlyn Oyafuso, Emily Galloway, sophomores Kaitlyn Sheets and Casey Ziegler.
Five freshmen will also play a factor, led by Sabrina Williams.
Allen Park runs against Woodhaven and Lincoln Park at Champaign Park tomorrow.Anderson Coach Lisa Fast is hoping her team can grow a little once school starts.
The Titans return three runners from last season after fielding a team of 13 in 2009.
One bit of good news is that top runner Dakota Angileri, a junior, is back to lead the way.
Others Fast will lean on are sophomores Kayla Smith and Rebecca Michelski and newcomers Tinera Moore a freshman and sophomore Chelsea Pingston.
Anderson runs tomorrow against Carlson and Roosevelt.
