They also took away BCBS Ins. and made them take cheaper Insurance with higher copays. And to top it off they cut a few jobs and increased the workload of the entire staff. Hopefully if they are surviving then maybe we will regain some of the benefits we lost in our joined efforts to avoid the cuts. The teachers and staff haven’t seen a pay raise in about 4 years. Allen Park was at fault because they didn't have the drains open all the way. We lost thousands of dollars worth of stuff and the City is responsible. Within the last year I paid out over $10,000.00 for a new sewer line and sump pump and then they fail to open the drain. It's pretty sad when you pay a high tax to live in this city and they cause you such a loss. We had just remodeled our basement and now we have to deal with the clean up and loss, not to mention that so much water entered that it even caved in part of the basement floor. I think there is so much water under the basement that the house isn't suitable to live in. We can thank Allen Park for this. Pretty sad too, when the city is hurting for such a thing to happen. We lost computers, furniture, appliances, children's toys and so much more. Do these people that run this city think this is a joke? No wonder our city is going downhill, we have idiots in place. I will not stop until I am compensated for all the damage that has been done. We have small children living here and it's just not safe. But you bet your sweet ass if it was one of them, they would be on it in a heartbeat. I can see now why so many homes are for sale in Allen Park. I grew up here and now live here and was once proud to call Allen Park my home. I will be contacting the local news stations too and hiring attorney's until all is made right.
