ALLEN PARK — Almost 30 police officers and firefighters won’t be out of a job next month.

Meeting scheduled to appoint treasurer

A special City Council meeting has been called for 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The council is expected to appoint a new city treasurer. The treasurer’s position has been vacant since Kathleen Gaty retired June 30.

Council will also hear a presentation from Lormax Stern, who manages the Allen Park Studio Center.

DDA, city may swap funds in order to pay for former studio property

The Downtown Development Authority tabled discussion Thursday on a money swap proposal that would help the city make a bond payment.
